Happy pockets in 2011 :)

Wishing that 2011 will be a better year for us- especially in terms of finances. Though we still have a lot to pay for- house, renovation and car- there are other things that we can save from in the coming year, hopefully.

1. Diaper- we started potty-training Gabbie in the middle of 2010, that means from 4-5 diapers a day (since she turned two), we went down to 2 or when we just stay in the house all day, she uses only one and it’s only during night time. Now she has started sleeping with no diaper at all. That means savings of P650 to P900 a month.

2. Formula Milk- Gabbie used to consume 30oz of formula milk when we stopped breastfeeding at 22 months. When she started eating solids during our regular meals, it went down to 12oz. Around September of 2010, it was down to 6oz which she would consume only at bedtime. Recently, she no longer asks for milk before sleeping. That’s an average of P1000 a month.

3. Vaccines/Immunizations- on our visit last October, pedia said Gabbie has already completed the necessary vaccines except for the yearly flu shots. Each injection cost us around P800 to as much as P2000 (discounted pa yan!). So we are looking at a savings of around P1500 a month for her injections and pedia visits. (Lord, please keep all of us healthy at all times).

4. Electricity- from sterilizing her milk bottles.

5. Water Bill- we have just shifted from mother meter to individual. That also means from commercial to residential rates. It also saves us from paying for leaks and for illegal connections. Though we will be paying for the meter for two years at P795 per month, our water consumption is expected to decrease from P1000 to probably P200 or lower.

I’m planning to revisit our budget file so we can check where else we can save. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! 🙂
